NORI NORI KYOTO · SAFETY GUIDE

Accident & Trouble Guide

What to do if there is an accident, bicycle problem, battery issue, theft or bicycle removal during your rental.

Emergency first: If someone is injured or there is immediate danger, deal with the emergency before contacting the shop. In Japan, call 110 for police and 119 for ambulance / fire.

English

1. Accident, collision or property damage

  1. Stop immediately in a safe place. Do not leave the scene.
  2. If anyone is injured, provide reasonable assistance and call 119.
  3. For a traffic accident, collision or property damage, call the police at 110.
  4. When safe, note the location and take photos of the bicycle, surroundings and any damage.
  5. Contact NoriNori as soon as possible and tell us what happened.

2. Bicycle feels unsafe or has a mechanical problem

If the brakes, wheel, steering, tire, chain or another important part feels abnormal, stop riding. Do not continue on an unsafe bicycle and do not attempt major repairs yourself.

Send us your location, a photo if possible, and the bicycle number shown on the bike. We will advise the next step.

3. E-bike battery or assist problem

If the electric assist stops but the bicycle itself is safe, the bike can still be ridden without electric assist, although it will feel heavier.

If you need help or a battery exchange, send us your location and the bicycle number. For an on-site battery exchange, arrival is normally around 40–60 minutes depending on traffic and location.

4. Lock, key or combination problem

Do not force the lock or change the combination setting. Contact us and send a photo of the lock and your bicycle number.

5. Bicycle has been removed for illegal parking

Contact NoriNori immediately. Kyoto City currently charges ¥3,500 per bicycle for removal and storage. Identification and information that identifies the bicycle are required when collecting it.

Always use designated bicycle parking to avoid removal.

6. Bicycle is missing or may have been stolen

Check that you are at the exact place where you parked it, then contact NoriNori immediately. If theft is suspected, the police may need to be contacted. Do not delay reporting a missing rental bicycle.
