Arashiyama Nature Scenic Cycling Route: One-day Guide

Arashiyama Nature Scenic Cycling Route: One-day Guide
  • Route Overview

    Suggested Route:
Start from NoriNori Nakagyo shop (Kyoto city center) → Ride west via Oike-dori or Shijo-dori → Join the Kamo River Cycling Path → Follow the Katsura Riverbank → Arrive at Arashiyama.

    Distance:
One-way is about 10–12 km. The route is mostly flat, but there are some slopes in the Arashiyama area. This makes it ideal for electric bicycles (e-bikes), which offer a much more comfortable and effortless ride, especially for longer distances and uphill sections. We highly recommend choosing an e-bike for this itinerary.

    Before Departure

Our bicycle rental shop opens at 9:00 AM. We recommend picking up your e-bike and starting your ride around 9:00 AM to avoid the crowds and enjoy the peaceful morning scenery of Arashiyama.

Be sure to bring water, sun protection, and some coins for parking or snacks. Free cycling maps are available at our shop.
