Our electric bike with child seat is designed for parents or guardians sightseeing with a young child. Electric assist is useful for longer rides, stop-and-go city traffic and routes that include gentle slopes.
Because this bike is heavier than a standard bicycle, the adult rider should already be confident riding and balancing a bicycle before carrying a child passenger.

Family-friendly Kyoto riding tips
- Use designated bicycle parking. Do not leave the bike outside hotels, apartments, shops or on the roadside unless bicycle parking is clearly permitted.
- Keep extra distance when braking because a child passenger changes the bike’s weight and balance.
- Avoid narrow pedestrian-heavy streets where possible and walk the bicycle when an area is crowded.
- Plan shorter stops and parking locations before you ride, especially around major temples and shopping streets.
- Return during normal hours by 6:00 PM unless an after-hours self-return has been arranged in advance.
Good routes for families
For a relaxed first ride, central Kyoto and the Kamo River area are usually easier than committing immediately to a long cross-city route. If your group is comfortable riding farther, an e-bike can also make routes toward Arashiyama or southern Kyoto more manageable.
Before setting out, check the route, bicycle parking and return time together so the day stays flexible.

How much is the electric bike with child seat?
Full-day rental is ¥3,000. Half-day rental, when available, is ¥2,000 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Can I rent it for more than one day?
Yes. Multi-day rentals are available, and a charger and battery key can be arranged for rentals of 2 days or more.
Can I park anywhere near a temple or hotel?
No. Kyoto has strict bicycle parking rules. Please use designated bicycle parking and check our parking guide before your ride.
Do I need to pay in advance?
Most standard bookings are paid at pickup. For rentals of 3 days or more, some group bookings, or special arrangements, a deposit may be required and will be confirmed with you in advance.
